Capture of a live show and its dress rehearsal, to produce a teaser and the full film for its promotion.
The project was built in two stages. The dress rehearsal was filmed first, using a steadicam to get close, fluid shots near the performers and their movements.
The live show itself was then captured with two cameras: one fixed on a wide shot to keep the whole stage in view, the other on a close tracking shot to capture expressions and details. This combination ensures a varied, dynamic edit without adding risk on the night of the performance.
Having several sources — rehearsal and performance, wide and close shots — gives the edit richer material to work with. The rehearsal footage brings proximity and movement, while the two angles from the show allow scale to alternate without breaking the pace of the piece.
This kind of setup requires preparation beforehand: knowing the flow of the show, anticipating key moments, and coordinating the shots so that each source serves the final edit.
The teaser condenses the energy of the rehearsal and the show into a short format, designed to build anticipation beforehand or to promote the show afterwards. The full film, in turn, keeps a faithful record of the whole piece.
Together, these two formats cover different needs: promotion beforehand, and a complete archive to share with the company, partners or future programmers.
